My wonderful massage therapist turned friend turned client wanted to launch her business plan this past January! We spent a lot of time talking during my massages about the vision for her business. So when it was time to put her ideas and my ideas to paper, we were both quite clear about what that needed to look like! She loves sunflowers, deep orange and the colors and feel that go with it! Naturally I included that all in her website, logo and brochure. Her mission as a certified health coach is “to motivate and guide willing individuals and families in their quest to achieve better health and live a more complete wellness lifestyle.” I encourage you all to contact her if not just for her amazing massages! She is a wealth of information in health and I always learn something from her whiles talking. Not to mention the great recipes she blogs about frequently!
Her website is Achievable Health Coaching
I know I haven’t blogged about my work in quite some time… it is one of those areas that I am really good at telling others how impactful it can be for their business but then when I turn and look at my business, I lack. Ugh. Then I just realized that the last time I posted was exactly 1 year ago today! Wow!
I can tell you that that might have happened due to a huge increase in my business but I still don’t think it is a good excuse! Last year was my biggest and busiest year yet and I certainly don’t have too much to complain about. Now I just need to get my site updated and show you some of those things I worked on. THAT is my goal for the next couple weeks! Someone please hold me accountable…
The sun is shining and the temps are slowly climbing here in Iowa – that is such a good thing. Isn’t it amazing how our environment affects our output!?!?
Cheers!

This poster looks like it would have been one of those “simple” projects… It turned out to be quite time consuming! One of the things I learned quickly with Nationwide Ag is that their audience knows their industry well, very well.
When I first created the poster, I chose a picture of cows that I thought were good. They were dairy cows and that is a big market for New York. The sky had a perfect shade of blue and the grass was beautiful! The pictured was super colorful! But apparently, it was not the correct type of dairy cow that is bread in New York. This poster was being created to hang in the New York Farm Bureau agents office to help promote Nationwide Ag as a new sponsor. So, I had better get the correct cow or the point might just not be as effective.
Then I found a picture of a few dairy cows that were the type they were looking for. Nationwide was happy with the picture we came up with and sent it on for approval from Farm Bureau. It came back with a big stamp of rejection again as this time one of the cows was a “sick” cow. After quite a few laughs and insight as to what makes a sick cow “look” sick in a picture, we fell upon the picture in this poster.
I came up with this caption and couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. I like the play on words we used. “Have you HERD?” is very catchy and it makes you want to read the copy. Exactly what we wanted to accomplish with the poster. Job done!
New York Farm Bureau was so happy with this poster, we made it into postcards and other marketing pieces.
Nationwide Agribusiness® kept me very busy this first quarter! Their biggest obstacle is making sure the pieces are created properly for the area they are going to be viewed in. The two ads below are going to be run only in the upper New England states. Finding the proper pictures to depict the feeling those customers have when looking through the magazine is critical. This audience knows their industry quite well and giving them the wrong feeling while trying to promote yourself does you no good.
This half page ad is going in a promotional piece that targets the apple growers. Loved this great picture I found online to use in this ad. Makes you want to eat an apple!
Nationwide Agribusiness supports many companies from a third party perspective. This ad was created for one of their dealers, KFSA. They wanted to promote themselves in a grain elevator book that is going to be published. Finding this picture of an old grain elevator on an open range was exactly the feeling they were looking for.
Here is another ad for a grain elevator book but this time we are promoting Nationwide Agribusiness. Loved this picture!
